Many people wonder what the differences between electric showers and power showers are. If you have ever used a power shower, you will realise that the pressure of the water is quite different from that of an electric shower, but why is this? When you use an electric shower the water pressure is exactly the same as the pressure you would normally get from your cold water tap. The pressure of this water will depend on where you live and minimum standard of pressure your water company has set. A power shower is different because it has a pump built in, which means it can throw out varying degrees of pressure. As the user, you will have the choice of different levels of pressure, and this can easily be controlled by using the regulator which can be found at the front of the shower. As a side note, power showers are not ideal used with a combi boiler as they draw the hot water straight from the boiler, nor can they be used connected to the mains supply; they have to run from the header tank in your roof.
